Hey, Sprite! You came over to my blog to ask about the bag I made for Tiger's Mom...

I assume you mean the round one, with a flower on it, and a little one attached to it...that was from the book

The Knitter's Bible - Knitted Bags
Claire Crompton
David and Charles, 2007

The bag itself is on pages 90-93: the pattern is only part of one page, but the pictures are lovely and take up the rest.

It is knitted of sport weight (Well, I had very very thin black stuff and doubled it for the body, and used Lion Brand Microspun for the flower.) You make two circles and sew them together, you make two little rectangles, embroider them and sew them together with a zipper, you make some strings and attach one to both bags, so the little one does not get lost, and one to the large one, for a handle. You could probably figure that part out from looking at it...

I did modify the pattern by adding a zipper for the large bag - it didn't originally call for one, but I thought it would be better for notions this way.

The pattern calls for single point needles, but in the future I would probably knit the round bag on double points, just two less seams to sew.

Probably any more or less flat knitted or croched flower could be subbed for the one they show, and you could use a little bit of a fancy yarn if you had some lying around. It says one ball of sportweight...and it has a pattern for a very romantic looking rose as an alternative to the daisy look...

If this does not answer your questions, come back and ask more!
