Our Christmas celebration went beautifully. The children had fun and
hubby and I enjoyed seeing their happy faces. The weather left us indoors most of the time, only hubby and Boyo ventured outside to shovel the snow from our driveway and help the neighbors clean theirs. We tried going to visit my BIL, however, the inclement weather made us turn around right away. We got to his house and Sam dropped off a turkey and we turned right back. We got about 10 inches of snow just in one evening and although the snowplows are very good around here, due to the holiday, they were a bit slower than usual. It was quite scary being outside when the snow kept coming down in buckets. Thankfully, we made it home and we stayed inside...nice and toasty.
Mom wasn't able to come visit this Christmas, but we spoke on the phone plenty and I chatted via Facebook with my brother quite a bit. Of course, my presents didn't get there in time for Christmas but neither one of them minded much. No one has ever complained about receiving a late present ;).
I called my Grandma and Grandpa in Mexico and I even called my Dad! Talking to my Abuelita is always nice and it makes me homesick for them and their company. The relationship with my Dad is still shaky and I don't know if we will ever have the nice close relationship that I yearn to have, however, calling him on the phone is taking me in the right direction. Definitely a great time on the phone with my family.
May your holidays be happy and safe.
With Much Love,
The Chubbette Purling Sprite :)
