We all have dreams of what we would like to do before we die. For much of my life, I went without goals or dreams, I figured that as long as I was moving forward that I was okay. Although people may perceive me as competitive, I am not, I am however a person who likes to complete what I set out to do. Once I set my mind on something, I am not content until I finish it, I don't mind being last, I just want to finish it having said that I gave it my all.
To put these goals/dreams down, helps me focus on the steps I need to take to get there. Also, it helps me maintain a positive attitude during the days when I don't want to get out of bed to train.
I would love to complete the following:
- Marathon: Done, 2009!
- Half-Ironman
- Ironman (a full one)
- Lotoja
- Great Wall Marathon
- Baxters Loch Ness Marathon
Thoughts that help me get out of bed when I really don't want to be out there:
- All the work that I put in the previous days will go to waste if I just stay in bed
- Flexing my arms and feeling my "developing" muscles is enough to make me get out of bed and back in the gym
- How badly do you want it! No one else can do it for you, if you want it, you must get out there and do it yourself
